To determine the sale price you ask for your car, you can look at websites that advertise dozens, if not hundreds of cars that could give you an idea of how your car should be priced in your area to be competitive in the current market. Be aware though that just because a car is advertised at a price, this does not mean that it will sell for that price! Some companies offer free advertising, others may provide a valuation for your car if you ask How much can I sell my car for? But be aware as some of these sites charge a fee.

Once you have decided on the price to advertise you car at, look for an option that will not charge an advertising or selling fee, maybe a local newspaper or a free-ad paper to sell car, or consider an online cash car buyer. Be aware, though that some sites may not be able to offer coverage in you desired area, or have the volume of potential purchasers using their service and some have hidden fees.

When advertising, provide a detailed description of your car. Remember to include the mileage, condition and all positives about your car, even pose the question, why would I want to sell my car, and provide an answer that can show that you are not selling the car because of any negative point.

Another virtually cost free way to sell my car, would be to print some flyers and distribute them in your local area, this may result in a quick, local sale.
